How to carve a beautiful water lily out of soap.
Easy
I placed these water lily soaps in a bowl of water.

  What you will need
           
 Soap
   :Round or rectangular , both are fine
    this soap is about 7cm(2-3/4" ) in diameter.
   :Use any color of soap you like   
 Carving knife
 Toothpick

(optional)
Yellow food coloring
Paint brush

  How to carve the water lily

1.Draw a 2cm(7/8") diameter circle in the top of the soap
  with a toothpick.
  Then holding your carving knife at a right angle to
  the soap,deeply cut the circle.
    

2.Thinly cut off the soap inside the circle.  
    

3. Then,trim the side of the center,and smooth the soap
   around the center.
    
4.Lower the top of the center a bit.
     


5.Insert the kinfe tip diagonally into the center,then make
 an inverted cone shaped indent.

6. Cut some slits in the edge of the center to create the
   stamens.
    

[Carve six petals of the first layer ]

7.Draw a 3.3cm(1-3/8") diameter circle,then divide the
  circle into 6 equal parts.

8.And make a straight cut from the center.
    

9.Make another straight cut,then cut the soap between
 two cuts along the circle.
    

10.Cut the soap again to remove the soap as below.  

             

11. To carve a long petal,repeat steps 8 to 10.

12.Then do the same to the other five parts.
     
     

13. Cut each part into a pointed petal shape.
     


14. Trim the outside of the petals.
     Six petals of the first layer are done.

[Carve six petals of the second layer ]

15. Draw a 5cm(2") diameter circle,then divide the
  circle into 6 equal parts.

16. Carve the second layer in the same way as the first
    layer.
    

      


17.Cut the soap around the second layer horizontally.
    

18.Cut each part into a pointed petal shape.
    

19.Trim the outside of the petals.
     Six petals of the second layer are done.
