Super Cute DIY !


There are two different heart designs.


: Simple heart box (Easy)


: Soap cutting heart box (Medium)


Optional :Decorate the box with flat back stones and beads.

<What You Will Need>
Soap ( round soap or rectangular soap, either is fine)
Carving knife
Paring knife
Sculpting tool (or spoon , binder clip)
Toothpick
Heart Shaped Box templates
(You can download templates
from the link below for free)　　　
　　　 Heart Shaped Box Templates
    　

If you don't have a sculpting tool(left),use
a smallspoon or binder clip.

Making the bottom of the box
1.
Draw a horizontal line around your soap with a toothpick,
then cut (around 6 mm ,1/4" thick) top of your soap with
the paring knife .


Tip: slowly cut the soap along the outline.


2.
Place the template for the bottom of the box on the thickerpieceof soap,then trace around the edge of the template
with a toothpick.


3.
Lightly cut the heart shape with the carving knife.

Cut your soap into a heart shape with the paring knife
and the carving knife

5.
Place the template for the top on the soap,then trace
the edge of the template.


6.
Lightly cut the heart shape with the carving knife.


7.
Holding your knife at nearly a horizontal angle,thinly cut off
the soap inside the heart shape.



8.
And slice off the soap inside the heart shape to flatten
the surface with the carving knife.



9.
Draw a smaller heart shape inside the carved heart with
a tooth pick,leaving about 3mm(1/8") gap from the carved
heart.
Then,lightly cut the heart shaped line with the carving knife.

10.
Scoop out the soap inside the heart with a sculpting tool
(or a binder clip or a spoon etc. )


The bottom of the box is done.


Making the top lid of the box
11.
Using the rest of the soap (see step 1) ,make the top
lid of the box. Smooth the top of the soap with the
carving knife.


12.
Trace the edge of the template (for the top) onto the bottom
of the soap.


13.
Trace hen cut out the heart shape with the carving knife.



14.
Trim the edge of the upper side of the heart.


15.
Put the lid on the box. if the lid is too big,trim the excess
soap so that the lid fits well.
Simple heart box is done!
